Another diversion
My prototype New York Subway Cube gets my time not by intention but a post on Cafe Anne, one of my favourite Substack reads
Yesterday (Monday) I read a post on Cafe Anne about the allegedly mysterious Line ‘Z’ on New York City’s Subway system. All Anne’s posts are, without exception, entertaining and informative.
As some of you will know I am a ‘cube maker’, as well as someone who tries to write, and be a map maker of sorts. Then I bake and cook. Right now I have a loaf rising and a leek sweating so it can go into a lentil soup later to which I will add a teaspoon of ground cumin just to give it a little lift. Neither Susan or I like spicy food or chilli, but I digress. What has prompted this post is my wanting to share a prototype version of my New York Subway Cube with Anne and my emails are not getting through, so this is my solution - post the image I want her to see to my paperbag stories.
I suspect a few others may be interested. I hope so. It is original and will become a work of art eventually. In the meantime be the first to see something unique.
Another two months I reckon before this cube is how I want it. That is until I change it.
Well, if I had your attention for a minute that is an achievement.
Take care. Stay safe. 🐰
I love this! But I also want to know what it means to sweat a leek.
Robert, now I am curious how you make your cubes! Do you acquire and cut up actual paper NYC subway maps?
